Steve Guy is a highly motivated leader who honed his management abilities in the British Army. He has significant expertise in the civil construction sector and joined Christchurch City Council (Council) in 2021 after working as a Contractor in New Zealand for 13 years.

He has vast experience working with Government agencies, consultants and contractors and has managed diverse projects around the globe.

In his role as City Streets Maintenance Manager, Steve has skilled teams of both Council staff and contractors who manage and maintain road networks across Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. Steve also provides civil and commercial construction guidance to the wider Council to deliver the best outcomes for the people of Christchurch.

Well regarded for his can-do down to earth attitude, Steve prides himself in working with high-performance teams, leads by example and utilises his vast coaching experience to get the most from his teams.
