Sarah Geard is a Senior Policy Advisor at the NZ Automobile Association (AA).  Sarah’s role involves research, policy development and advocacy on transport infrastructure and urban issues, with a primary focus on Auckland. 

Sarah played a leading role in developing the AA’s positions on tolling and congestion charging. Sarah also undertakes AA Member surveys to understand user perspectives and inform AA policy.  

Prior to joining the AA, Sarah was a Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Transport. In this role, Sarah was involved in developing advice for the Government on Auckland transport issues, monitoring and advising on the development and delivery of Auckland transport projects, and transport and planning legislative reform.  

Sarah has a Bachelor of Planning and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Auckland.
