John Kinghorn is the Transport Systems & Analytics Lead with Hamilton City Council. He oversees real-time operations, Intelligent Transport Systems, and transport data collection & analytics.
John’s primary role is to make it easier and safer for people to move around the city through the creation of effective and reliable transport systems.
He enjoys pushing the envelope in what can be achieved with smart transport systems and the use of data and Artificial Intelligence to better inform decision making and improve operations.
John is a chartered professional engineer, a member of Engineering NZ, and a committee member of the NZ traffic signals user group.
Outside of work, John is involved in youth work, setting up a small country homestead, and trying to find time for various hobbies such as DIY, smart home technology, building arcade machines and model aircraft.
