
Ashley Green is a trusted advisor to the Waikato-wide RATA Technical Advisory Group, where he supports councils in transitioning to the New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM). He has played a key role in developing briefing materials and delivering regional workshops to build understanding and capability around NZGTTM adoption.
In addition to his work with RATA, Ashley is seconded into Waka Kotahi’s Road Safety Team, contributing to safety initiatives across Waikato and Bay of Plenty. With over a decade of experience across the UK and New Zealand, Ashley brings deep expertise in road safety, asset management, and crash investigation. He has attended the scene of more than 50 fatal and serious crashes, providing technical input to investigations and identifying opportunities for infrastructure improvement.
Earlier in his career, Ashley worked with UK Government Agencies, offering strategic policy advice, analysing crash data, and developing decision-support tools.
After relocating to New Zealand, he led consultancy delivery for the Central Waikato Network Outcomes Contract, managing teams across asset management, road inspections, traffic management coordination, and safety. He has also contributed to other NOC contracts, taking a lead role in SCRIM and IL reviews.
