Alison has worked in procurement for 30 years across a range of sectors in leadership, operational and consulting roles in the UK and New Zealand.

For 7 years with the Ministry of Education, Alison played an integral part in building and then leading the team responsible for transforming infrastructure procurement and directing the procurement of major construction projects, transport, school internet provision and school’s payroll. Joining the Construction Sector Accord in September 2021 initially as the Director Construction Procurement Transformation and then Transformation Lead Client Leadership, Alison was involved in helping to shape the Sector Transformation Plan 2022 – 2025 as well as leading on a number of initiatives aimed at improving procurement and risk across the sector.   

In August 2023 also was appointed to the role of Head of Procurement for Waka Kotahi. Alison is a strong believer in the key importance of relationships to maximise value and deliver successful projects and programmes.  In 2019 Alison was the recipient of the 2019 ACENZ President’s Award for “her collaboration and commitment to positively working with our members and encouraging both clients and consultants to work together for the good of Aotearoa.
