Entries for the New Zealand roading industry Rising Star Award, sponsored by Jacobs, are now open. The award was launched in 2024 to recognise the standout person aged under 40 in the New Zealand roading industry, defined by their acheivements during their career to-date.
It is organised by Freeman, convenor of the Future Roads conference. Managing director Matt Freeman says that recognising and celebrating excellence is an important component of any industry. “The Rising Star Award will become an industry benchmark for individuals on the move,” he says.
Individuals can either be nominated or self-nominate.
Judging of the award will be conducted through an independent judging panel comprising Lynette Ellis – Christchurch City Council, Scott Ford – Isaac Construction, and Neil McLoughlin – NMC Consulting.
Entries must be submitted by 5pm, Friday 15 August.
Finalists will be announced Wednesday 10 September, with the winner announced at the Future Roads dinner at Claudelands Events Centre, Hamilton, Wednesday 19 November.
